'anthropogenic wake up'

Materials: Wooden frame, gesso, acrylic paint, card, handmade paper, egg tempera, soil pigment.

Dimensions: 90cm x 2.5cm x 60cm

The research for this work looked at the Anthropocene, the aurora and human consumption of scarce resources. The work was made during the first lockdown in 2020 when all we were allowed to do was a short daily walk. The soil pigment was collected from points on that walk and the paper was made from Scottish Government Covid leaflets we were all sent through the post. It is a study on the liminality of time.
