'Ghost Gear'

Created in collaboration with UHI Music Business Student who provided the audio.

Materials: Discarded fishing waste, jute rope, wool handknit.

This collaboration found a common interest in exploring some of the side effects of modern fishing. The installation was created in situ where the fishing net waste was collected. It was connected to poles on the shore where local fishermen would have dried their nets. Jute was the traditional material for nets in the past and the hand-knit wool symbolised the traditional workwear. The film
is a single shot using natural light with no editing effects and is the exact length of the soundtrack
